The game
Every run reshapes you.
Nothing is free.

Ultima Cenere is a PC roguelike deckbuilder coming to Steam. It is playable today in Playtest: two acts — from the Woods to the Walking Citadel — three classes and 240 cards. The full project plans four acts — Forest, Prairie, Outskirts, City — toward a final enclave called The Last Bramble, the last oasis to survive the ash; a free demo is planned for autumn 2026, with mobile versions to follow.
During a run the character changes. They don't heal: they mutate. They don't power up: they trade. Every decision is irreversible, every advantage has a stated price.
The signature mechanics
Cross-class mutation
All classes mutate. The ash imposes transformations that remove, add or reshape cards in your deck. Mutation is endured — the player picks between two options, but cannot refuse. By the end of a run the deck is radically different from the starting one.
Anatomical trade

Mad Welder
Narrative events where an ash cyborg-smith offers a trade: give up human body parts (max HP, deck slots, stats), receive mechanical implants with symmetrical upsides and downsides. Unlike mutation, the trade is chosen — so the responsibility is yours.
Asynchronous endgame PvP (planned)
Not in the game yet: this is the plan for the endgame. It will unlock after your first completed PvE run. A dedicated 25-30 card PvP deck, a run of ~15 fights against other players' asynchronous decks. Between fights you pick a mutation for your deck: everyone starts equal, everyone ends with a unique deck.
